Mono no Aware

“Mono no Aware” reflects on the beauty of a moment that cannot be held. A contemplative gaze, an open fan, and flowers in the hair evoke a quiet pause, filled with tenderness and a barely perceptible sadness.
Lively, free brushstrokes bring cool turquoise and lilac tones into harmony with warm pink light. Colour seems to dissolve the boundaries between the figure and the surrounding space, lending the image the fragility of a memory. This fleeting quality creates a sense of intimacy: everything changes, and so every glance, every glimmer of light becomes precious.
